And the fibers.. Have literally been scientifically proven to… help you reduce weight.. You take more fiber.. You’re gonna lose more weight…
Every function in your body … is connected to your Gut health… in some way.. Shape or form..
Autoimmunity also works.. Too where.. Its like.. You’re essentially fighting.. Like your body.. Is fighting itself..
So now.. You’re experiencing increased inflammation and.. That's the recipe for disease.. To take over..
---------
When it comes to the endocannabinoid pathway ... I love taking that specific ... it's a great alternative to having too... lets say... you know... smoke up.. or ... like have to... you know... THC
Yeah...
It's a ... you know... it basically... it's basically this THC Capsule
Yes
It's not THC.. its.. it's almost like a replacement for THC... but it activates the same endocannabinoid pathways
Yeah, yeah...it does.. it does...Another way to activate your endocannabinoid pathway is with cacao.... so there's something called sacred cacao.... it's a blood medicine actually...
No kidding...
Yeah..... and it's really really rich in fiber... it's really rich in magnesium... it's really rich in proteins surprisingly... because when you do a comparison with like..... the sacred cacao VS just regular cacao... a regular cacao doesn't have that much protein.. but then you look at the sacred cacao ... where does that extra protein come from... right? So... when a plant medicine is sacred... you'll also notice that... the nutritional content for it goes up significantly as well..... and the neurotransmitters.... that it activates.... I mean one of my favorite neurotransmitters is Anandamide ... in Sanskrit Ananda actually means love... and this neurotransmitter Anandamide basically what it does is... boosts serotonin levels and endorphins.... endorphins that feel good....
Speaking of Serotonin.... 90% of the Serotonin is made in the Gut...
95% …
95? Thats crazy...
Yeah... it's manufactured all in the Gut...
And those are the... hormones that make you feel good... that make you feel happy... it's actually the precursor to Melatonin.... it's like the holy grail of your kickstart to the day....
Yeah... I mean Serotonin is... involved in so many different functions.. and basically 95% of it... is manufactured in the Gut... and that's why there is a huge link ... between you know.. mental disorders... such as you know.. depression... or anxiety ... there is such a huge... link between your Gut health and you know.. those feelings and emotions... that you're going through associated with specific mental conditions...
I imagine that's because... basically there's such a huge link between the Gut and the brain and that's why...
Absolutely yeah....
A lot of psychological disorders stem from that I imagine...
Yes absolutely so.... the brain is... sorry the Gut brain.... which is basically this term because... the Gut actually has... the same sort of nervous fibers... that are actually found in the brain... so it's like ... wow... they're almost identical in terms of their... not identical in the sense that the nerves are very different.. However in terms of like... how intricate they are... their nervous system.. how intricate it is... there's such similarities... and that's why now the Gut brain Axis exists and scientists started studying all of these things and what they found was your Gut health is also associated with your HPA which is .. Hypothalamus–pituitary gland adrenals ...
Wow...
So basically .. the gut is actually responsible for 20 different hormones.....
And that includes all the stress hormones too, right?
Absolutely... cortisol... adrenal hormones... So that's why when you have....... this one organ... this one organ that.... you know.. is 40 times larger in surface area than your skin... like that's how much space emcompases... it has a huge link with different mental conditions... that we're seeing so much of like... you know.. there's approximately 18 million people in the United States... that suffer from some sort of depressive disorder every year... there's 40 million people that are affected by anxiety disorder... so that's a huge population that's like.... I believe that's around 40%...
And a lot of those stats... are probably even outdated because it's a growing number but at the same time... so then okay... so are you saying that? You know there is an opportunity for radical healing because.... even 70% of your immunity... it's in your Gut.. I mean...
80%...
80% Wow!
I know! So... what's crazy is every function in your body... is connected to your Gut Health in some way shape or form, you know? And you're like wow... That's fascinating... because this organ that I have been paying very little attention to.. is that amazing...and it gets even more amazing when you now get to microbiome .. you know? I mean when scientists first started studying the microbiome... that actually called it the microflora... because they thought it was more like ... plants... instead of these you know... living Eukaryotes, Archaea & Bacteria . Instead of seeing them as living organisms.. they classified them as these plants you know... so that's why microflora... I don't really like that word .. I like the word microbiota or microbiome because its much more reflective of the fact that these are... living organisms... you know they mimic our celular structure so much...
And how much is the balance between ... like the organisms that are good for you.. and organisms that are bad... how does it usually work I mean maybe... in an ideal situation... or in a not so ideal situation...
Well... it's more about the ... diversity right? ... So just to give you some perspective... we have 100 Trillion different bacteria... in our guts... and basically like... when you compare it to us human beings... the bacteria actually outnumber us... 10 to 1
Wow...
10 to 1.. So I mean like... 90% of ourselves are actually bacterial... you know... so you're like okay... I'm 90% that... and I'm 10% of what I've always believed myself to be ... so it's quite fascinating because... it's like there's this whole.... your gut--- it's like this whole universe... you know... wil all sorts of different species... living in there...
Not to mention at all.... the neurons too because... the Gut is almost like a larger brain.. it's even the first brain...
Exactly...
And I've actually already said that... outright.. and the interesting thing is.. that because it's the first brain it has... its own collection of neurons.. so we store emotions there... we store... guilt... a lot of actually goes on...
Yeahh and that's why like... how you eat.. is so important... I mean one of the biggest things that... we're struggling with right now is... that when people go out to restaurants.. they cant even put their phone away... you know... their cell phone goes with them and it's on the table right there... I mean... as you're having a conversation with a living human being right in front of you... instead you are focusing on your phone... and you're not even giving your body a chance to even get digestion going I mean... basically what happens is that... you know... when you are in that state... you're in a fight or flight mode... and you're producing all sorts of... stress hormones... cortisol--- adrenaline...
And that's not even including the response like... if you're reading a bad text or if you're reading an email that's not such a great subject... that's not even a reflective… of.... you know... the subject... or the thing that might be stressing you out more too..
Exactly... exactly... and now--- When you see that you know.. like... 90% of the information... that travels between the Gut & the Brain... is from Gut to Brain... and the other 10% is Brain to Gut... but what's so fascinating is ... when the stress hormones go up in concentration.. Basically what happens is that the mucosal membrane which is like the intestinal wall.....now begins to break down and become thinner... which basically means there's more permeability and that's why we have autoimmune conditions...
Leaky Gut...
Yeah Leaky Gut is like the beginning... that leads to different things like... chronic inflammation or autoimmune conditions.. so basically what happens is like.. because of the high stress... The gut is like prioritizing the brain... over its own functions... and so it's kind of compromising its own activity to give the brain a hint you know?
It's like the wrong.. it's really like wrong.. the way that... you know.. its being... prioritized. It’s really almost backwards...
Exactly... exactly... and so what happens is that... you know... that's why you have... it results in conditions like... eczema or like psoriasis... because what happens is when this... wall becomes thinner... it basically becomes more porous so what basically means is that...undigested particles can leave the Gut and enter the bloodstream... and what happens is... the body goes hey..... wait this is some sort of a foreign pathogen... you know.. this peanut particule is some sort of a foreign pathogen lets attack it.... and it attacks and your immune system has its own memory.... and now next time it encounters a peanut particule even when its broken down.. lets just suppose that its digested now... attacks and these attacks get like more fierce... each time that alorgen is introduced towards the food sensitivity...
Wow... wow...I mean, what would you categorize that... cause I mean autoimmunity... is showing up in many different forms so I mean is this really kind of like... how autoimmunity also works to.. where's like... you're essentially fighting like... your body... is fighting itself.... right?
Yeah... absolutely.... so yeah... that is autoimmunity... like basically your body is attacking itself.... as a result, like it's just constantly.... attacking constantly... attacking and that leads to like... an increased concentration of proinflammatory cytokines... and this proinflammatory cytokines... they increase inflammation in the body.... and now you're experiencing increased inflammation and that's the recipe for diseases to take over...
Yeah.. with the inflammation what's interesting is... the tumeric and ginger.... I mean like basically both of those together that can really help with the inflammation especially....
Absolutely... so the tumeric has these specific compounds ...Carcuminoids .... 95% standardized Carcuminoids which are really really good... that have actually... in different scientific studies... been shown to decrease inflammation... and you know... improve joint function as well... then ginger has this amazing compound called gingerols ... these are like the antioxidants in ginger.... and they really help fight oxidative stress... which can also result in chronic inflammation so it's basically like... going after the root cause... of it all... and speaking of root causes... so basically when you are using tumeric with ginger... you're addressing one part of the problem, which you are experiencing high levels of inflammation.. however the root issue... is really that porousness.... of that thinning mucosal layer... that intestinal wall.... which creates Leaky Gut... so now you have all these little like... porous... you know... surface for the wall.. where now all these anthogens can go into the bloodstream... now basically.... collagen... is actually amazing because it goes in... and now it starts sealing those pores...
Oh wow...
Yeah it's like a Glue that starts... like bringing you know.... the junctions together... and it starts kind of like... preventing any undigested particles... from entering the bloodstream...
Yeah and it even helps with the strengthening of the Vilium..
Yeah.. the villi...
I called it Vilium.. hahaha
Yeah the villi with their microfilaria .. yeah it helps that as well..
Yeah and that's really interesting because collagen.. has been really fascinating me because I mean.... yeah.. collagen comes from... the cooking of animal bones.. well actually... sorry... it comes from the dry animal bones.... bone broth is what comes from cooking animal bones....and now we're having people literally in coffee shops adding it to their lattes... or taking it straight up as a supplement... it's become a real... part sort of a regimen.... especially from people suffering... from arthritis... or having like... joined... even inflammation.... so how does that even work.... because I mean it's also helping the gut... but it's also helping all these other areas...
Yeah, so basically with bone broth... what's amazing is that... it's not only rich in collagen... but it's also rich in gelatin... and gelatin is really really amazing... because you know you have... collagen but you also have the Gelatin... which is also like lining the Gut... and improving that permeability... of the intestinal wall.... so they kind of act together... but then you're right it's really rich in all these minerals... like phosphorus... and manganese ...
You're talking about the bone broth?
Yeah... so it's really rich in all these different minerals....
And these are like building blocks, right?
Yes of DNA..
Of DNA essentially.. yeah..

And the interesting thing is with the DNA... that is really the expression of the gene.. that is almost set in stone unless... you lengthen those ... like you're basically improving upon those genes as well... but really the RNA is ... really like the catalyst... between the DNA as well as the cell right? Because of the cytoplasm of the cell.. it basically works with Ribo..
Ribosomes
Ribosomes
Ribosomes, yeah
of like... also that's kinda within the cytoplasm of the cell.. right?
Yes
And essentially then that's how kind of the DNA... sort of communicates with the cells.... is I guess the conception... like a lot of people they sort of think that.. it's just the DNA... no! the RNA is also involved... which is basically kind of like a DNA... is almost like.... it's just a different type of DNA.... I'd say...
Well.. basically so... RNA is basically like... what happens is... the DNA.. is these 4 unique sequences of these 4 amino acids.... but the RNA is like.... is the complementary pattern..... for that DNA sequence.....
Wow... wow!
So it's not identical but.. it's almost like a mirror...
It pretty much is and the thing is... this is really... important for the Gut! Because... I mean obviously there's so many cells for the Gut too.... so you know.. the RNA is a really really important component in all of these.... and throughout that process you know.. your gene is also improving... in the long run as well....
Yeah
I mean of course, there's environmental factors and genetic factors... but a lot of people don't realize that.... you can change your gene....
Yeah absolutely... another thing about like.... RNA is that.... is through RNA that we're able to like... map the genes out.... so you know... the Human Genome Project... Basically what they found was... okay as human beings.... we have 26 thousand genes... but then you look at .... a rice plant... and a rice plant has 46 thousand genes... how is that possible a rice plant has like... almost all whole our... our genes... but what's even more interesting is that... when you actually sequence the genes... of the bacteria.... in our guts... they have about... 100,000 genes....
Wow...
So basically what... RNA sequencing helps you do is.... it helps you identify the specific genes of the different bacteria... so now.. we can start classifying... these bacteria... because there are different types.... different types of... strains... so basically once we identify.... these different strains.. we're able to more clearly like... see.... what these strains are involved in... you know what kind of biochemical reactions... and how they are related to specific conditions....
Yeah and I mean what's interesting is while we're on the subject of DNA's especially.... I mean sound therapy... there's now... like studies that are showing up.... and what's interesting about sound therapy is... that also influences the... the actual DNA in terms of coherence... as well as the light... its ability to.... absorb light as well.. increases...by I believe it's 9% actually....
Oh wow that's amazing...
Yeah and that's what's so interesting you can actually... influence your gut through... sound therapy using... solfeggio ... different frequencies...
Oh you were talking about that yeah....
Yeah this is really interesting because... this is really kind of what....we integrated in our meditations I mean you do that with Gregorian Chants as well.... I mean... not that we do the Gregorian Chants.... I mean... you actually... have gregorian chants... as a part of all of this... this is a very conventional way to kinda add to all of this... and this is something that's really really interesting... because now we're sort of having multifaceted ways that just doesn't involve nutrition...meals ... but you know.. sooner or later... in the future you're gonna see sound therapy as well..
Yeah... and what's amazing with sound therapy is... like... I mean... I've done it... quite a few times now.. what you'll notice is... that a specific part of your body will respond... you know? Like you'll actually feel movement.... so it means that the sounds are going... somehow you know.. matching some vibrational frequency.... in your body and now are.... is healing your body.... I love sound healing...
Yeah that's fantastic.... so I mean... really... kind of back to the gut... we came to the DNA as well but then I guess you're talking about the cultures... we never... really kind of came... towards a solution.... on the cultures... I mean.. really... I guess you're probably thinking probiotics.-- Probiotics can be a really potent way to help and of course... probiotics include the natural form of probiotics...
Yeahh so basically... what we want to do is basically aim for... is two specific strains... so basically right when we're born.... so for example... infants who are born through the normal... vaginal delivery.. basically in their gut microbiomes.... are very different... than infants who are born... via cesarean delivery... and the rates of cesarean delivery are rising and they're about 33% but what scientists actually discovered is that the gut microbiome... of cesarean born babies... is far less diverse than... the gut microbiome of infants that are born via a normal delivery...
Wow...
Yeah and not just that.... but infants who were born... via cesarean delivery... also have an increased risk of... developing obesity later in life... as well as developing diabetes.... later in life...
Because I guess... trauma really plays a role in all right?
Yeah... well I guess the spiritual... emotional perspective of .. specifically from like a physical perspective..... what happens is that... we literally get our gut microbiome.... from our mothers when we're like.... exiting that birth canal you know.... through inheriting like the vaginal.... microbiome and the skin ….kind of right?
And that all shifts... right? I mean... just looking at it from a very cultural perspective like a body.... cultural perspective..... that one shifts while you know.. basically cause its stress obviously during the cesarean when even the mother’s free.... can have stress...
Yeah... because it's actually when the infant is traveling through the vaginal birth canal... is where it's picking up all the strains right.... and from the Mother's Gut but what happens with cesareans is.. okay.. you got the baby out... the baby didnt even... travel down the vaginal birth canal... where is it going to get.. its microbiome from... right? So, basically.... it just gets them from like.... whatever is nearby.. whatever surfaces the infant touches.... like after they're born... it's like... that's where their Gut microbiome... resembles much more... the bacteria that's found on the skin.... like what is bacteria that's supposed to be on the skin in the microbiome... of that baby... but that's what happens because... it needs a microbiome...
It takes whatever... it can find initially...
Exactly..
With some level of compromise of the gut...
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean.. they found--- actually that... the rates of cesarean sections is .. highest on Saturdays you know.....
Wow..
Yeah, so... it's quite amazing but I think that... the good thing is that... you know.. it's not set in stone... you can change your microbiome...
You just have to be aware of the situation... and understand...
Exactly... yeah.. so it brings us back to like.. which strains... Lactobacillales ... Lactobacillus... Bifidobacterium.. those are the two strains.... and there are specific ones like Acidophilus... but basically what we want to do is.... we want these two specific strains... which are really really good... and always look for a probiotic that has those strains... always look for one that has somewhere in the billions of CFU's .... and then really figure out like... what are the symptoms that you are noticing for example... like if you're struggling with... lets just say bloating or... lets just say you feel fatigued... these are all signs of what kind of strains... you need.
And your stool too right?
Yeah... yeah.. absolutely.... so everyone's needs are so different when it comes to a probiotic... so basically like you should just go look for one that.... can resolve symptoms that you are experiencing...
And really I mean.. right now... like at least having...you know a great probiotic that... includes the main 4 strains... and ensuring... that kind of covers a lot of ground, right? Because... essentially even giving yourself a boost... because at the start... you know... you could really use a boost... especially if you're going through a cleanse... or you find that your Gut flora really needs a pick me up.... like you need to hit the reset button and a cleanse. comes in... so you basically.... not just feed the Gut.. Probiotics.. but you feed Prebiotics... because that Probiotic needs.. the nourishing food...
Yeah.. and what's amazing is that..you know.. prebiotic fibers is another thing that's like amazing... because... bassically... what... they did this study where... they had this rural south african... population.. who ate a diet that was like... you know... really high in fiber... and whole foods... and you had another group of african americans... who basically were living in the United States... and following the... you know.. common... western.. diet.. which is like you know... high in trans fats and processed foods... so basically what the researchers... did was.. they swapped the diets... so now the South African Group... began eating the diet that was like.. high in trans fats and refined foods and sugars... and then you had the North American African American... group that basically started following... the South African Rural diet... where they started having lots of fiber... and what they found was... that ... basically the south african group... who started now adopting the... Western Diet... had higher levels of Colon inflammation.. and had lower levels of Butyrate with it ... which is this short chained fatty acid
And that's a necessary thing...for your body to produce...
Exactly...
But now... there's lower levels of Butyrate with it.. which is this short chained fatty acid which is involved in... you know... preventing your risk of... or lowering your risk of... Colon cancer... so you had that effect on the group and this was after I believe only two weeks... and then you had the... Western Group that... adopted the rural south African diet... it was the opposite... so they actually had... lower levels of Colon inflammation... and their levels of Butyrate actually went up.... so which means that their risk of developing... Colon cancer was reduced...
And that really points to ... Fiber.. I mean because... fiber.. is a great prebiotic... Psyllium Husk is probably one of the first that comes to mind from me...
Flaxseed
Flaxseed as well.. and putting that in water...both of them actually... letting them just sit in water... for like... maybe 5 minutes... 10 minutes... and that allows... and it's fantastic.... the way that.... it looks like a cell.... like both of them when they're in water it's fantastic... and that's a great cleanse... and you're getting the benefit... of not just the prebiotics but the fibers and the fibers.... have literally been scientifically proven to help you reduce weight... you take more fiber you're gonna lose more weight...
